Situated on Victoria Street overlooking the beautiful Camps Bay beach, La Parada is an elegant tapas bar that delivers excellent food in a unique setting. We have been to La Parada on numerous occasions during the busy season, but this time the setting was relaxed and Camps bay felt less rushed than usual. I sat down to a refreshing G&T, ordered the seared tuna (Atún y sésamo) and calamari (Calamares a la Plancha) dishes and enjoyed the passing scenery.
The service and food was excellent. The flavours are mild and suitable for most palates. Our waitress was well spoken, friendly and super-efficient. Living up to its claim as a tapas bar, La Parada boasts an expansive drinks selection – enough to bring out the Rocco de Villiers in anybody!
A quick lunch, an oversized G&T and a view overlooking bustling Camps Bay was all it took to recharge our batteries for the climb up Lion’s head that afternoon.
