Location is key when we spend limited time in Cape Town and when we need a solid base from where to explore the southern peninsula and surrounds. At The Tree House Boutique Hotel we found that and so much more. Needless to say we absolutely loved our stay. From the moment we arrived and shown to our room we were treated like royalty, without the overbearing impersonal routine so often associated with bigger hotels (one reason you will not see a hotel on this blog or less – us staying in one). Based in Green Point, we were central enough to easily stick to our social agenda which included a hike up Lion’s head, dinner at the Dutchess of Wisbeach, a visit to the Zeit Museum and a party in the city.

Other guests made use of The Tree House Boutique Hotel as a base to explore the winelands and the garden route. One couple did this with a registered tour company, whilst the other did a self-drive. There are many attractions in and around Cape Town which the friendly staff at The Tree House Boutique Hotel will be happy to book.

This visit was a treat. We felt welcome, safe, valued and completely at home – all thanks to the exceptionally well designed spaces and the friendly efficient service. This was a highlight of our quick Cape Town trip and this boutique hotel will rank high in our recommendations to anyone thinking of visiting Cape Town. Our room had a stunning view over Green point with the iconic stadium set against the backdrop of the Atlantic ocean in the distance. The general areas are small, but well laid out and includes a deck with a swimming pool, a lounge area and a small garden. There is a gated parking area, big enough for 4 vehicles and lots of on-street parking – either on High Level or Vesperdene Road (we parked here). Note that the Herb Garden Suite may be rented for longer periods and has its own private entrance via High Level Road.

Adventure

There are loads to do in and around Cape Town. Our favourites include hiking up Table Mountain through Skeleton Gorge – starting at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, paragliding from the top of Lion’s head and visiting the countless art museums in town – our latest favourite being the Zeitz museum of contemporary art Africa. Food

Breakfast was delicious. A variety of breakfast cereals, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and juices, followed by a tailored warm breakfast was enough to score the win with both Lee and myself. Due to our hectic schedule we missed the afternoon treat – a serving of special cake which changes daily.

Coffee

Skip the capsule espresso coffee in your room and sneak down poolside to enjoy a decent cup of bean-to-cup. Not able to grant more than a 6/10, but check our blog post and vlog entry on our visit to Origin Coffee the next morning.
